What are the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of lenses?

Answered By Tim Lockhart, Editor

Hard contact lens is preferred over some other contact lenses since it is said to be durable and cost-effective. On the other hand, some people do not prefer this type of lens since it is uncomfortable to wear. This may be due to the fact that hard contact lens does not permit the oxygen to immediately reach the cornea.

Soft contact lens is well-loved nowadays since it is flexible to use and it allows the oxygen to get into the cornea. Additionally, people can choose from daily wear or extended wear soft contact lenses. However soft contact lenses are said to be more costly compared to hard contact lenses.
